Naan

Butter Naan

Are you thinking of making a special dinner with something fluffy and oil-free item tonight??

Then welcome to the recipe of butter – naan.

INGREDIENTS:
1. 1 cup all- purpose flour.
2. ¼ cup curd/yoghurt (not necessary).
3. 1 tsp of active dry yeast.
4. 1 tsp of salt.
5. I tbsp. of refined oil/vegetable oil.
6. I tsp of sugar.
7. ¾ cup of lukewarm water

Method (for preparing dough):
1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add sugar to it.
2. Sieve the floor in a shallow empty pan (parat).

3. Make a gap in the middle and add yoghurt, oil, salt to it.
4. Knead it into a soft dough.
5. Cover it up with a plate or store it in a container and keep it aside for 1-2 hrs.

6. After half an hour my dough looked like this.

7. Again knead the dough and make rounds out of it and flatten them and keep them aside.

8. After another half hour they looked like this.

Method (of baking naans):
1. Now take a rolling pin and roll the flattened rounds one by one.
2. Line a foil in a baking tray or aluminum foil pan.
3. Preheat the oven to 500 degree F or the highest temperature in the oven.
4. Place the rolled naans elongated triangle shape or any shape you desire in the tray.
5. Place the tray on the topmost rack of the oven.
6. Be very careful while baking.
7. It takes 2-3 mins to bake on one side.
8. When one side has turned slightly brown flip the naans and bake them on the other side.
9. In total 4 naans can be baked in 5 mins (depending on the capacity of your baking tray).

This quantity will serve 2 -3 people.You may serve them with dal or paneer makhani or any vegetable curry of your choice.
